OSHA does not mandate a single "new hire orientation" standard, but it does require training on each of the specific hazard categories covered in this package. HAZCOM training must be completed before an employee is exposed to hazardous chemicals, per 29 CFR 1910.1200(h). PPE training is required before an employee uses protective equipment, per 29 CFR 1910.132(f). Emergency action plan training must be provided when a plan is established, per 29 CFR 1910.38. Walking/working surface hazard training is required under 29 CFR 1910.22. Back injury prevention is addressed under OSHA's General Duty Clause and ergonomics guidance.
