Non-CDL fleet training for service vehicles, sales fleets, delivery vans, and any in-house fleet operating below the CDL threshold. Defensive driving, distracted driving, fatigue management, and DOT hazmat awareness in one program. 168 courses include full Spanish narration at no additional charge.
OSHA holds employers accountable for worker safety on the road under the General Duty Clause. Defensive driving training is the foundational requirement for any fleet program. Crashes are a leading cause of work-related fatalities.
Texting while driving is prohibited for commercial drivers under FMCSA rules and for all drivers in 48 states. Employers are increasingly held liable for crashes involving employees on calls or texting. Documented training reduces both crashes and liability exposure.
Drivers of commercial motor vehicles must conduct daily pre-trip inspections. For non-CDL fleets, vehicle inspection training reduces breakdown costs, accident liability, and DOT-trigger violations when light-duty fleets cross into commercial weight classes.
Any employee who handles, ships, or transports hazardous materials in commerce must complete DOT hazmat training within 90 days of hire and recertify every 3 years. This applies to many service and delivery operations that do not think of themselves as hazmat carriers.
Driver fatigue is a contributing factor in a significant share of fleet crashes. Employers running non-CDL fleets are not bound by FMCSA Hours-of-Service rules but remain accountable under the General Duty Clause for managing fatigue exposure.
Snow, ice, fog, heavy rain, and high winds account for a meaningful share of fleet crashes. Documented hazardous-weather driving training is a defensive measure for both insurance underwriting and post-crash litigation.
Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) for new CDL holders and CDL credential courses are not part of our catalog. ELDT requires registration with the FMCSA Training Provider Registry, which RTS does not hold. Buyers needing ELDT or CDL credentials should consult an FMCSA-registered training provider.
Fleet-related citations and crashes drive workers' comp claims, third-party liability exposure, and insurance premium increases. OSHA penalties for serious violations can reach $16,550 per instance. Repeat or willful violations carry penalties up to $165,514. Crash-related civil liability commonly exceeds these amounts.
